Description:

The objective of this assignment was to conduct the environmental and social due diligence for the largest energy provider in Romania, Complexul Energetic Oltenia, in accordance with EBRD’s 2008 Environmental and Social Policy. Tasks included: one week site visit, review of current social practices within the company’s operations, gap analysis against the bank’s performance indicators, delivery of reports (ESAP, SEP, FRAP). The project covered the activities of 15 open pit coal mines, 3 underground coal mines and 3 coal-powered energy plants, with over 18,000 employees.
