The objective of the project was to conduct a waste sector analysis to determine the issues of waste economy, its size and composition within the Gauteng City Region and a thorough assessment of the GISP. Tasks undertaken: selection of impact matrix i.e. potential for CO₂ avoided; an assessment of existing IS programmes across the globe and outline best practices that can be adopted in Gauteng.
