The project aimed the development of a tailor made Sustainable Society Index, SSI, for Romania. The results were published, both in Romanian and in English. Through presentations, workshops and individual coaching, organizations and authorities were stimulated and supported to use the SSI. Besides developing the SSI on a national level, the index is serviceable for regional use. So each region in Romania is able to use its own index. The project has been initiated by the Sustainable Society Foundation and realized by two Romanian consultancy firms: VeraNatura and Green Partners, in close cooperation with NCSD, the National Center for Sustainable Development in Bucharest. The project has been subsidized by Matra, a Dutch subsidy program. More information can be found on the website, www.romaniadurabila.net
