Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) of the Greater Baku Regional Development Plan (GBRDP)

In order to promote the future sustainable growth and development needs of the Peninsula by facilitating provision of a sound infrastructure base with intra-sectorial linkages, the Government of Azerbaijan is preparing a sustainable vision for the metropolitan region and surrounding Absheron area by launching the preparation of the Greater Baku Regional Development Plan (GBRDP). The objectives of this project were:
– Identify the economic and financial instruments that can be used to encourage preferred environmental actions.
– Recommending the financial instruments that are appropriate for application in Greater Baku
– Set out the implementation framework for the financial instruments that are recommended
