Waste recycling management plan in Baia Sprie, Romania

The plan was part of the trans-boundary project “Improving the conditions of Environment in the area of Ivano-Frankivsk by applying environmental friendly solutions successfully implemented in the city of Baia Mare”. The objective of our assignment was to provide a tailor made waste recycling management plan for the town of Baia Sprie. Particularities of the study included the high fraction of biodegradables and dispersed
Baia Sprie being considered an urban area also with village particularities in terms of waste, high fraction of biodegradable.
The associated tasks were the identification of best recycling option in terms of costs, applicability and impacts on the community and the environment. A monitoring plan was also proposed.
