
Réka Soós, M.Sc.
Reka has 20 years of consulting experience in the fields of circular economy, climate change, sustainable energy and urban development. She has worked in over 50 countries as key expert, evaluator or team leader. Reka participates in applied research and writing for publications in her core fields of expertise. She holds a Master degree from Wageningen University, the Netherlands, in Environmental Sciences, specializing in environmental economics and environmental system analyses. Her Bachelor degree is a double major in Applied Economics and Business Administration from the American University in Bulgaria.

Ciprian Popovici, M.Sc.
Ciprian Popovici has 19 years of experience in environmental and social consulting work both at national and international level. Ciprian has been working in several sectors such as waste management, water and wastewater, road infrastructure, public transport, oil and gas industry, energy and mining, in different countries, either as key environmental and social expert, team leader or project manager. He holds a Master degree of Wageningen University, the Netherlands, in Environmental Sciences with a specialisation in Environmental Policy and Competence Education and Development studies.

Cristina Rus, M.Sc.
Cristina is an ESIA expert, working on environmental and social assessments for investment and modernization projects in a variety of industrial sectors. She has 12 years’ experience in environmental consultancy and she is well versed in a wide range of assessment requirements, including IFI requirements (EBRD, IFC), national and EU legal requirements as well as management standards (ISO, EMAS). She has worked extensively for upcoming investments in the oil and gas, energy – wind farms, mining industry, vehicle industry, waste water treatment, waste management fields. She is also a valuable team member in conducting market research or feasibility studies in these sectors with a specific insight on opportunities and barriers related to permitting and to environmental and social risks. She graduated as an engineer in 2009 completing the courses of the specialisation in Biotechnical and Ecological Systems Engineering at the Faculty of Environmental Science from Cluj-Napoca. She holds a Master Degree in Risk Assessment and Environmental Security.

Diana Gheorghiu, Ph.D.
Diana has been working in environmental consultancy since 2007, her expertise extending from industrial processes, safety and risk assessment to sustainable urban development, climate change vulnerability, adaptation and organizational resilience. During her academic studies and mostly during her PhD studies, Diana’s research focused on the influence of natural hazards on critical infrastructure, natural and anthropic hazards identification and risk assessments, co-authoring various scientific articles in the field. She has been an expert evaluator with the European Commission for Urban Innovative Actions, Horizon 2020 and LIFE proposal assessment for several years. During her consultancy career she worked with and for private and public clients, including public authorities and International Financing Institutions such as EBRD, the World Bank and UN Environment. Diana’s fields of work and interests include industry, waste management, sustainable urban development and climate resilience.

Gabriela Gavgaș, M.Sc.
Gabriela has 7 years of experience in environmental consultancy, including the design and implementation of environmental management projects in several countries. She has extensive experience in policy research, analysis, monitoring and evaluation, as well as in organizing engagement events and liaising with relevant stakeholders. She has been a key policy expert on several international technical cooperation projects, conducting policy reviews and assessments for several high-profile international publications, such as Waste Management Outlook for Central Asia (UN Habitat 2016), OECD study on investment costs to prevent ocean plastic pollution. She has also been involved in the development of Green City Action Plans, as well as conducting environmental compliance performance checks for companies seeking investment loans. Gabriela holds a Master degree from Babes-Bolyai University of Cluj-Napoca, in Environmental Science, specializing in Environmental Quality and Energy Sources (2013).

Vlad Mureșan, B.A.
Vlad has a bachelor degree in Sociology from the Babeș-Bolyai University of Cluj-Napoca. He has 8 years of experience in working together with vulnerable communities in order to facilitate the access to social entitlements, as well as facilitating inclusive resettlement or economic displacement processes. He is familiar with methods and techniques that are used in community development aid projects/interventions, facilitation, stakeholder engagement and consultation processes. He has expertise in working in sectors such as waste management, energy, and oil and gas. His areas of interest include resettlement practices, due diligence, stakeholder engagement, statistical analysis, policy review, restorative practices and environmental sociology and philosophy.

Eva Incze, M.A.
Eva has joined the Green Partners team in order to assist them with the editing and quality review of various documents. She also uses her experience in project implementation to provide knowledge and database management within the company. Her work is gravitating around ensuring the accuracy of data to be processed, the high quality of the deliverables, ensuring that documents produced are structured and coherent. Furthermore, she offers back office support for project implementation.

Andrei Pintea
Andrei is a graduate engineer of the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca, Department of Engineering and Environmental Protection in Industry, due to which he acquired knowledge about methods and techniques to improve environmental performance in various industrial sectors. During his studies, Andrei developed a patented method for recycling spent lead acid car batteries, with which he won first place at an invention show in 2020. Professional experience has been developed in projects proposed by International Financial Institutions in areas related to environmental performance assessments of cities, developing action plans for waste management, and developing studies for energy infrastructure projects. Other relevant tasks include the management and reporting of industrial waste to monitoring institutions. Andrei considers the inefficient use of resources as the main issue that the society of the 21st century must work on in order to reach circularity, sustainability, and a clean environment for all Earth’s inhabitants. At the same time, he believes that the development of humanity must be encouraged and supported, but not on the expense of a healthy and balanced environment.
The greatest threat to our planet is the belief that someone else will save it.

Claudiu Făgădar
Claudiu graduated at the Babeș-Bolyai University in Cluj-Napoca in 2021, holding a bachelor’s degree in Statistics and Economic Forecasting. He shifted his focus after joining Green Partners, building on his knowledge of data analysis that he previously gained and putting it to good use in the vast domain of environmental economics. He encountered a lot of opportunities to learn through hands-on practice in projects related to cost-benefit analyses, financial and economic assessments, climate financing, and business modelling in the SWM sector. When working with spreadsheet software, he is keen on good design and puts emphasis on readability, so as to help those around him easily interpret data and to avoid miscommunication. His openness to international teamwork comes from his side interest, which is volunteering for a network of European NGOs that provide help to international students.

Geurt van de Kerk
Mr. Geurt van de Kerk acts as senior adviser of Green Partners from the beginning of the company’s foundation. He has longstanding experience in project management, management consultancy, and implementation of projects. The activities in Green Partners take up a fraction of Mr. Geurt van de Kerk’s time.

Anna Szabo
Anna is a biologist specialised in ecology and has nine years experience in habitat and vegetation survey, participating as a team member in several monitoring surveys and in development of conservation management of protected areas; she also worked on biological aspects of built heritage conservation and maintenance. Anna has teaching experience at the Faculty of Biology and Geology, Babes Bolyai University, Cluj-Napoca, where she also is a Ph.D. candidate in the field of forest ecology. She holds a Master degree in Biocenology and Management of Protected Areas and a Bachelor degree in Ecology and Environmental Protection, both obtained at the above mentioned faculty.
