EBRD has launched an updated Environmental and Social Policy in November 2014. New provisions of the PR5 requirement referring to physical and economic displacement are being confronted with the legal and institutional framework in Romania. Tasks included:
- Revision of land tenure, land registration, expropriation and resettlement legislation.
- Review of expropriation process, involved actors, compensation methodology and other challenges of the process in relation to PR5.
- Identification of stakeholders involved in the process, assessment of their capabilities and resources and capacity building needed to comply with PR5.
- Assessment of potential impacts on vulnerable groups, identification of assistance programs, NGOs working with vulnerable groups
