Job Opening: Financial Specialist

We are seeking a Financial Specialist to join our team and focus on financial analysis of investments in urban infrastructure and sustainable energy. This role involves assessing the financial status of municipalities, public utilities, and companies, and evaluating the financial outcomes of modernization projects.

We are open to host internships or to hire more experienced persons, we are looking for talent.

Key responsibilities:

  • Conduct financial analysis of infrastructure projects.
  • Price urban and environmental services based on cost recovery and affordability.
  • Calculate financial indicators, such as NPV, IRR, cost-benefit ratio, and payback period.

Potential additional responsibilities:

  • Utilize economic instruments, including market-based tools like emission trading for market development and green growth.
  • Analyze and develop green financing mechanisms.
  • Perform cost-benefit assessments of investments and policies.
  • Design business models for green development projects.
  • Develop resettlement and livelihood restoration plans.
  • Work with sustainable finance frameworks such as the EU Green Taxonomy and Taskforce for Climate and Nature-related Financial Disclosure.

Qualifications:

  • University degree in finance or economics.
  • Proficient in Excel.
  • Fluent in Romanian and English; additional languages are a plus.
  • Experience in financial analysis and investment planning is advantageous.

Skills and attitudes:

  • Willingness to learn about financial roles in environmental consulting.
  • Strong team player.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
