Compilation of a GCF Concept Note for MSW in Morocco: Pre-feasibility study for mechanical biological treatment of municipal solid waste in 2 municipalities

GIZ (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit) as Accredited Entity with the Green Climate Fund was looking to submit a Concept Note for the waste management sector in Morocco. The draft concept note is built around the Mechanical Biological Treatment facilities and concentrates on recyclables, compost and Refused Derived Fuel (RDF) as main outputs. There is a thriving cement industry in Morocco and therefore a demand for RDF. The task included streamlining and developing the Concept Note to be submitted to GCF.
